What We Do
HPDP provides a stimulating and supportive environment for a multidisciplinary community of scholars and their external partners who share an interest in health promotion. We offer a variety of services supporting every aspect of the research process:
- Proposal development and submission
- Post-award financial management
- Communications and public relations
- Qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Community-based participatory research methods
- Data capture, management, and analysis
- Program evaluation
- Training and technical assistance
- Research translation and dissemination
- Human resources planning and implementation (including job creation, recruitment, and development)
- Office, meeting space, and equipment
Our research is funded by state and federal agencies (e.g., NIH, AHRQ, USDA, CDC), as well as private foundations. As a CDC Prevention Research Center, we also conduct a Core Research Project and Special Interest Projects (SIPs).
Service Units
- Research Development - proposal and budget development; grants administration
- Biostatistical Support Unit - statistical services ranging from research design to data analyses
- Data Capture Unit - data collection support, including TeleForm®
- Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) Core Unit - support and outreach to promote CBPR
- Evaluation Unit - consultation and collaboration in planning and evaluating interventions
- Qualitative Research Unit - consultation related to planning, conducting, and analyzing qualitative research
